.. and oh so impatient.

it’s mid-february and still no green light for puyi.  with his injury vacillating from getting better to not-so-good from day to day, it’s hard to look forward to matches knowing that el capitan won’t be defending.  tomorrow, we face gijon, and puyi will not travel with the team.  i’m still hoping for a small miracle so that he can be ready when we face arsenal (although reports as of late suggest otherwise)

anyway, the one bright spot in this puyi-less week was xavi’s interview with sid lowe.  the full article can be read here:  http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/feb/11/xavi-barcelona-spain-interview?CMP=twt_gu

SL:  In  England do we overrate physical players? You mention Carragher, Terry …

XH:  Whoa! Wait! Be careful. They’re fundamental. We’ve got Puyol. Technically he might not be the best but it’s incredible the way he defends.

i can’t wait ’til your next game, puyi!!

Yes I know! I can’t wait until Puyi gets back on the pitch! He is Barca/Spain’s wall and I always feel a lot more secure when he’s playing in games (even though Abidal is doing awesome). I really hoped he’ll be ready for Arsenal… surely he will be back way before the return game at the Camp Nou! Get well SOON Puyi!!!

And Xavi’s interview in the Guardian has got to be one of the best sports interviews ever. He transmits futbol love!

I’ve missed your wonderfully witty Puyi posts as much as I’ve missed the man himself. We’re all a little sad about his injury, aren’t we, even though the team continues to play outstandingly. Let’s hope he’s back with them soon. (Also, thanks for the Xavi interview– the man’s all class.)

Oh!!! The interview makes me miss Puyi even more and more!

I can’t agree more with you that my passion drops a little bit when knowing el capital will not play on the pitch😦 and when I find out in wherever updated information that he’s not gonna be around with the team makes me sad. I miss him on the pitch so baddddd.
